Below are questions we have received from some of the colleges and universities who are participating in Miss Black America Coed 2017.

If you are a college or university representative, click here.

What do I do if I want to participate?

1. Register at www.MissBlackAmericaCoed.org/application

2. Submit a headshot to info@missblackamericacoed.org

3. Submit a transcript to info@missblackamericacoed.org

4.  If you want to represent your college in the Miss Black America Coed pageant, and they are not currently affiliated with Miss Black America Coed, you may get permission from your college by downloading the MBAC Permission form.  A good way to get your school's permission is to go through an on campus organization. If the organization decides to be the campus representative for Miss Black America Coed, they will be eligible to receive $1,000 if you win.

5. We ask all colleges (or campus organizations) who are sending representatives to the Miss Black America Coed Pageant to mail a t-shirt with the school’s name, initials, or logo.  The t-shirt should be mailed to Miss Black America Coed, PO BOX 1040, Fresno, Texas 77545.  Our current Miss Black America Coed, Roneshia Ray, will take a picture in the shirt, and post it on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to introduce you and your college.  ***This is optional for "independent" contestants who are not supported by their colleges.

Do I have to pay the registration fee with the application?

All contestants are required to pay the $50 registration fee for the Miss Black America Coed pageant. However, college representatives are not required to pay the $50 registration fee when the representative is selected by their college.

What is the entry fee?

Miss Black America Coed does not have an entry fee.  Our supreme effort is to make this experience as affordable as possible for the students. Instead of large fees, we hope that the representatives will host MBAC Charm Schools to encourage teen girls to go to college. (Hopefully, it will encourage young ladies to go to your school.)

Are contestants responsible for fundraising?

Yes. A good place to start fundraising is at your college, sorority, on campus organization or church.   Supporters can purchase ads ranging from $50 - $250 online at  www.missblackamericacoed.org/shop

Do you know where I may get help with my travel?

The contestant is required to fund their travel unless it is sponsored.  Contestants should check with their colleges or universities to see if they qualify for travel funds since they will represent the college in the national competition.  Some colleges and universities have large endowments and therefore are able to fund travel for educational opportunities.  Because our MBAC Charm School offers service learning, and our event includes the opportunity to compete in talent, and thus demonstrate your musical or oratorical ability, you may qualify.

How much is the hotel?

The host hotel is the Dallas Omni Hotel which where the Miss Black America Coed room rate is $189 per night.

What airports are close to Downtown Dallas?

Dallas-Fort Worth hosts major airlines as well as budget friendly airlines, like Spirit, Jet Blue and Virgin Airlines, which travel into DFW Airport (which is approximately 20-25 minutes from downtown Dallas).  Southwest Airlines flies into Love Field airport (which is approximately 10–15 minutes from downtown Dallas).

When is the deadline?

We have a rolling registration system, so we register throughout the year.  Only one person may represent their college or state in the national pageant.
