Ms. Black America Coed 2015, Micaela Watkins
Sharing love and inspiring hope is Ms. Black America Coed Micaela Watkins’ life ambition. Leaving a legacy of service and selflessness, she believes will have long lasting effect on the lives of many, which is also one of the reasons she chose to participate in the Miss Black America Coed Pageant. “I participate in this program because I've seen how we can affect the young women we work with and that is what pageantry is about. I participate in this program because I believe in the way we have and will continue to mold young women and prepare them for leadership, service, and overall success.”
The 27-year-old Micaela’s road to success began at Southern Methodist University. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Education reigns supreme in her life as she was also accepted to study at the prestigious Oxford University for her degree concentration.
Micaela enjoys a healthy lifestyle and incorporates personal training of others in her life’s routine. Her sculptured physique is evidence of her 22 years of training in ballet. Micaela is also a certified fitness instructor.
Just as health and fitness is paramount for her, Micaela wants it to be a top priority for others. During her reign, she will advocate for those with the trait and suffering with Sickle Cell Disease. “I plan to promote the education of the disease, its causes, symptoms, and ways to cope for those who may be affected.”
